Debriefing Return The Program Darmasiswa RI in 2017/2018
Darmasiswa RI is the government’s program to give a non-degree scholarship during one year for foreign participants from different countries who interest study Art, Culture and Indonesian Language at the Universities and Institutions in Indonesia. This program has also been become resiprocal to giving scolarship between Indonesia with partner country, and has become a soft diplomacy and people to people contact program, in the field of education and culture.
Since 1974, 7.852 participants has joined this programme from 121 partners countries, and they are study in various Universities and Intitutions spread throughout Indonesia. In the beginning of this program, there are only several students from ASEAN area. Furthermore, with consideration this program is very strategic as a means of cultural diplomacy, the number, and scope of the invited countries should be increased. For 2017/2018, this program has followed by 637 participants from 89 countries and followed education at 55 Universities and Insitutions in Indonesia.
Darmasiswa program has a learning method which not only study inside class but also direct practice. When learning Bahasa Indonesia the participants invited direct interact with society. The participants gathered and to know about Indonesia culture through local society like learning about Batik, cooking typical cuisine, and also shared their knowledge such as teaching about English language, and the local society also teaching them to speak Indonesian language.
Teaching and Learning activities in UNIKA Soegijapranata,
Anton Imre Ackermann from Jerman, when UNS Goes to Village activity in 2017 was attended by 30 the foreign students from 14 countries. This activity took place on 10-12 November 2017 in Desa Borobudur, Magelang.
Darmasiswa participants are learning batik with local society.
Darmasiswa UGM participants are doing visits at the villages.
Besides, in the returning debriefing event for Indonesian Darmasiswa participants, the participants will present the performances and also the artwork that they have studied for 1 year in Indonesia. In this event, the participant has record by showing dance performances with the most foreign student participants which as a symbol of gratitude to the Government of Indonesia for giving them the opportunity to study in Indonesia.
More of 537 participants of the Darmasiswa RI scholarship program will show a Parade using traditional clothing from various regions in Indonesia representing the following cities such as : Aceh, Batam, Sumatera Utara, Sumatera Selatan, Palembang, Lampung, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surakarta, Malang, Surabaya, Bali, Makassar, Manado, and Samarinda. It is hoped that this program will continue and play a greater role in supporting efforts to improve the development of Indonesian Language and Indonesian Cultural Diplomacy outside Indonesia.

In this city, i meet with Indonesia people from the whole country. My facebook fulled with my friend, WhatsApp fulled with a new contact, and my heart fulled with a joy. Here, i can eat Bakmi Jawa together with my friend from Madura, and then playing a video game in the Bugis hostel.
