INTRODUCTION DARMASISWA INDONESIAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017
DARMASISWA is a one year non-degree scholarship program offered by the Indonesian government to all foreign students from countries which have diplomatic relationship with Indonesia to study Bahasa Indonesia, arts, music, crafts and particular subject in 54 selected Indonesian Higher Education Institutions (HE) in different cities in Indonesia. This program organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) in Cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
The main purpose of the Darmasiswa program is to increase and foster interest in Bahasa Indonesia and Indonesian culture among citizens from other countries. It has also been designed to enhance mutual understanding and provide stronger cultural ties among different countries.

II. VISA ARRANGEMENT
The Darmasiswa student is required to have a Social Visit Visa (VKSB) for 60 days issued by the Indonesian Embassy in the student’s country of origin. Upon arrival in Indonesia, the Darmasiswa student’s passport has to be submitted to the Bureau of Planning and International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Culture, for necessary arrangements in obtaining recommendations of the State Secretariat and the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The students are prohibited to apply for Tourist Visa or On-Arrival Visa for study purpose.III. COVERAGE OF SCHOLARSHIP
Monthly allowance will be received by student is Rp 2.000.000,00 (two million rupiah). a. Living Cost : Rp. 1.200.000 b. Book Allowances : Rp. 200.000 c. Local Transport : Rp. 200.000 d. Medical/Health Care : Rp. 200.000 e. Pocket Money : Rp. 200.000 The student is advised to bring enough money in US dollar for unexpected additional expenses in Indonesia.IV. QUALIFICATIONS OF STUDENTS
Each student has to fulfill these requirements as the follows: a. Student b. Completed secondary education or its equivalent c. Not older than 30 years of age (Born after 1 January 1986) d. Unmarried e. Able to communicate in English and additional Bahasa Indonesia is required f. In good health as proven by Medical Certificate g. Have basic knowledge of the field you're applying for.V. PROCEDURES
The applicant should register through the following procedures: Prospective students are required to register at the Embassy / Consulate General in the country of origin of students, and for students who are not in the student's home country is not allowed to be registered through the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate General in the participating countries (non-citizenship).VI. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Student must submit a complete application package that includes all the following items: a. Completed admission application form. b. Two references from Higher Education Institution on official letterhead and signature in English. c. Copy of academic transcript and certificates (in English). d. Copy passport valid at least 18 months from time of arrival in Indonesia. e. Curriculum vitae/resume. f. Passport size color photograph (5 pieces). g. Language certificate (TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS). VII. ACCOMODATION
The Ministry of Education and Cultural doesn’t provide the accommodation for students.VIII. ARRIVAL IN INDONESIA
The Ministry of Education and Culture does not provide the return International airfare to Indonesia. We only provide the transportation from Jakarta to place of study; however the transportation from place of study to Jakarta after completion of study will be carried out by students.IX. HEALTH INSURANCE

DARMASISWA ANNOUNCEMENT
Congratulation for Darmasiswa awardees academic year 2016/2017, here the next step to do: 1. List awardees of Darmasiswa Scholarship Program academic year 2016/2017 is the final selection result and inviolable.2. Participants who are awarded Darmasiswa Scholarship must confirm to Indonesian Embassy/Consulate General in participant’s origin country and sign Darmasiswa Contract.
3. Confirmation deadline to Indonesian Embassy/Consulate General; and Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) at the latest May 5th - 27th, 2016.
Reminder: If there’s no confirmation/information from participant until the time limit, MoEC will consider he/she withdraw from the Darmasiswa Scholarship Program.
4. Participant who withdraw from Darmasiswa Scholarship Program must immediately submit a written resignation to the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate General and MoEC at the May 27th, 2016.
5. Schedule of Arrival:
a. Participant accepted at the University of Indonesia (UI) are required to arrive in Jakarta on August 5th, 2016.
b. Participant accepted at other universities (exclude UI) are required to arrive in Jakarta on August 29th, 2016.
Reminder: Participants must arrived in Jakarta on scheduled date above, and will be provided pick-up arrangement at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta by committee. If participants arrival are not accordance with the schedule, committee will not responsible for transportation include pick up arrangment, accomodation, and immigration purpose.
6. Participants must inform to Indonesian Embassy/Consulate General and MoEC, regarding the flight itinerary 4 weeks before arrival.
7. All participants must attend Orientation Ceremony on August 30th, 2016
8. Participants are expected to have an international insurance for all risk type of coverage for study in Indonesia.
9. Participants must fully responsible for their own luggage/goods if it lost prior or upon arrival in Indonesia. Have them in your hands custody. MoEC will not responsible for the cost of any loss.
