REGISTRATION
When applying through the website, applicants are required to choose the Embassy/Consulate General in their respective countries of origin. Foreign nationals who are currently away from their countries of origin cannot apply by choosing the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate General in the country where they currently stay (non-citizenship).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Foreign nationals
- Completed secondary education or its equivalent
- Minimum age 18 years, with a maximum age limit of 32 years (special for this year)
- Able to communicate in English (Proven by English Language Proficiency Certificate: TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS or OTHER CERTIFICATE if applicable).
- In good health as proven by Medical Certificate
- Have basic knowledge of the applied field
- Have strong interest to learn the applied field
- Not registered as Darmasiswa’s Alumni
- Not registered as KNB's Alumni
- Not currently studying in Indonesia
- Not currently working in Indonesia
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Curriculum vitae/resume (template provided in Darmasiswa website)
- Medical certificate (in English)
- Passport valid at least 18 months from the time of applying
- Recommendation Letter from Education Institution / Professional Institution on official letterhead and signature (in English)
- Latest academic transcript and certificates (in English)
- English language proficiency certificate (if applicable)
- Certificates related to the applied field (if applicable)
- Photo passport (color)
- Essay about applicant's purpose of study (in English or Bahasa Indonesia maximum 500 words).
- A full body video that shows the applicant explaining her/his motivation to join the program and what she/he will contribute as an ambassador of Indonesian culture after graduating (video must not exceed 2 minutes duration and can be in English or Bahasa Indonesia).
I. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
- Receive educational programs prepared by host universities.
- Receive monthly living allowance in the amount of IDR 4,700,000.
- Receive a one-off book allowance in the amount of IDR 2,000,000.
- Receive a one-off settlement allowance in the amount of IDR 4,700,000.
- Receive accommodation and local transportation during the Orientation Program.
- Receive legal stay permit from the Government of Indonesia.
- Receive assistance from host universities in finding a house/room of which the rent is included in the living allowance.
- Receive local health insurance.
- Sign a statement letter provided by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (MoECRT).
- Inform the Bureau of Cooperation and Public Relations, MoECRT regarding the date and time of their arrivals in Indonesia for pick up arrangement.
- Arrive in Indonesia a day before the Orientation Program.
- Attend classes and programs until the end of their Darmasiswa Program.
- Write a trimonthly progress report to the host university.
- Write a final report to the host university and MoECRT after finishing their study in Indonesia.
- Have international insurance.
- Apply for Student VISA (index/type C316).
- Agree to be photographed or videotaped during the program, which will be used for the Darmasiswa Program’s documentation and promotions.
- Complete studies according to the program.
- After completing the program, participants are encouraged to attend cultural events and activities hosted by the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate General in their home countries.
- Awardees are encouraged to demonstrate good performance to enhance the likelihood of increased participation from their country in the program next year.
II. ACADEMIC REGULATIONS
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
- Awardees are not allowed to alter their selected field of study or host university.
- Travelling out of Indonesia during the academic period of study is not permitted, except for emergency reasons, such as unexpected death or severe illness of parents and completion of study/graduation ceremony in the country of origin. Maximum allowed time for such travelling is 2 (two) weeks.
- Travelling out of Indonesia is only permitted for 1 (one) time during the academic and religious holidays.
- Awardees must get a permission from the host university if point (b) or (c) occurred.
ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES OR STATEMENTS OF STUDY COMPLETION
Only awardees who meet the academic requirements and sit for the final test of their study are awarded a certificate of study or a statement of study completion by the host university.
III. NON- ACADEMIC REGULATIONS
- Comply with the prevailing laws and regulations of the Republic of Indonesia, including and not limited to road rules and regulation.
- Comply with the regulations of the host university.
- Not work/earn a living while studying in Indonesia.
- Not engage in political and criminal activities.
- Not get involved with drug trafficking (either as a drug abuser or trafficker).
- Not perform immoral acts.
- Be able to adapt and interact with the surrounding community and culture.
- Not perform any activities related to certain indoctrination.
- Not be married or pregnant while on scholarship in Indonesia.
- Any awardees who violated academic regulations other than on “classroom rules and attendance” for the first time will be reprimanded by the host university. Upon the second violation, awardees will receive a first warning letter (SP1). Upon the third violation, awardees will receive a second warning letter (SP2). If awardees receive a third warning letter (SP3), their scholarship will be terminated and they will be deported.
- Any awardees who fail to comply with the non-academic regulations, may cause the termination of their scholarship.
IV. ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL REGULATIONS
- The scholarship granted to the awardees conforms with the length of their study program (10 or 12 months).
- Awardees receive their living allowance every month from the University. Awardees are expected to be responsible for their monthly expenditure.
- Awardees will receive their living allowance providing that they remain in Indonesia during their academic period of study and present progress report.
- Awardees must submit their passport and other immigration documents upon their arrival in Indonesia to the host university for safety reasons. The host university will provide awardees with their copy passport.
